Hello. I’m the mess behind Big Mess.

Designer. Developer.
Compulsive “what if?” asker.

An ink illustration of the maker at his desk, thinking with a pen, surrounded by a notebook, mug, and plant.
Small on purpose.
Curious by nature.

Good ideas rarely
arrive in a straight line.

They start as a sketch, a stubborn problem, a half-formed thought. Sometimes, a big mess. That’s my favorite part.

Big Mess is my independent creative development business. I work across design and technology to make beautiful websites, useful custom software, and interactive experiences with a little personality.

When we work together, you work with me—from the first conversation through design, development, and the final details. One person who sees the whole picture, and cares about how it all comes together.

How the mess becomes something
01 / Get curious

Start with a conversation.

What’s the idea? Who’s it for? What could it become? Good questions make for better beginnings.

02 / Make sense of it

Find the shape of the thing.

Explore, sketch, design, and work out what matters. Give the idea a direction and a clear way forward.

03 / Bring it to life

Make it work beautifully.

Build, try, refine. Give the useful parts the same care as the beautiful ones.

A napkin sketch is a perfectly good start.
